Valley stories

Rachel Loise has performed as a Storyteller since 1995 and helped start Wild Rose Heritage and Arts in 2002. She loves the people and landscape of the Upper Calder Valley having lived here since 1987 and has developed her storytelling skills by turning oral histories into reflective and entertaining stories using our archive material.

We have recently, April 2013, produced a CD of the storytelling sessions that storyteller, Rachel Loise, has performed over the past six years. Her vivid style expresses an authentic voice about life in the Upper Calder Valley. There are five stories recorded. Contact us for more information.

Rachel has also now recorded her 'Living Legends' stories based on real lives of three important local characters. Listen to them here.
